My mother’s memoir, The Treasures in One Another, is the beautifully written, richly illustrated life story of a remarkable woman. I worked with her on it over the course of two years, and then, after she unexpectedly passed away, finished it up and published it, with plenty of help from family.
Margery Swett Walker, 1926 – 2019, was not quite famous, but she lived a varied, fascinating, accomplished life that often put her at the forefront of the societal changes of the 20th century: the search for world solutions after World War II, the family- and community-oriented 1950s, the tumultuous 60s, women entering the professional workplace, broadening access to education for people of all ages, new concepts of retirement living, and more.
Along with the broad sweep of her life come charming, “small” stories of interesting characters, worldwide settings, and the struggles and joys of family life.
The Treasures in One Another is available on Amazon and Kindle, or ask your local bookseller to order it for you.
