The correct pronunciation of New Gaia is “NOO GUY-uh.” The name is from the ancient Greek name for the Earth goddess, Gaia. A lot of people say GAY-uh, which is understandable because of that first “a,” but if they want to be correct they should think of the “ai” sound like mai-tai (the tropical drink) or Thailand (the ancient country). And yes, it’s NOO, not NYOO!
